what the mirror reflects back at us
Awakening Rants, Featured, Life on Earth,

The Mirror’s True Function

So you’re creating your reality, amidst this giant game board set up with nearly every option you can imagine, if you can figure out how to get yourself from here to there.  Life is truly all about how far you can see.

Once that gaze shifts inward more often than outward, your perspective of what your eyes see changes dramatically as well.

For instance, the “things” that exist around you—those objects situated in your room, serve their function in multiple ways.  Let’s imagine a lamp. Besides the utility-related function of a lamp, this object is also available to contribute to your metaphor of, say, “the giver of light.”  Perhaps, in addition, the lamp, bulky and jutting out into the room, serves as a nuisance in a small space. So the lamp serves as a multi-function tool, perfectly placed in your environment, for exactly when you need it.

You also  get to choose on how many levels that object represents itself; from utilitarian, to metaphorical, to cluttered junk.  And your subconscious is making its own judgments on that lamp too.  It could remind you, lurking in the back of your mind, of your creepy uncle who always tried to get you alone in a dark room.

You are so powerful, that you can attribute a meaning to something you see NOW, with an event from your PAST…and that new conclusion can drastically alter your life for evermore.

These objects were not just placed here randomly.  Each object, or “prop” as I like to call them in game-master fashion, plays a multidimensional role in your life story.

And one object that is in nearly every human’s possession in some way, shape or form, is the mirror.

Our friend on occasion, our foe more often than not, this prop follows us through every chapter of our life.

It starts by hanging right over us as infants, to bat around with yet-untrained mechanically-disfunctional hands, and the infant learns that his funny faces are shown right back at him.  A part of him, still fresh from the non-physical realm of freedom, recognizes this reminder that the Law of Attraction still applies here, on this very densely constructed game board we call Earth.

As we age, the mirror adopts other roles, such as providing a pimply teenager with the opportunity to survey the damaging eruptions that separate him from the identity-bewildered teenagers that comprise his peers.  He rarely makes funny faces in the mirror anymore, because he correlates the reflection he sees with his identity, with his worthiness to society, and with his chances of succeeding in life.

Of course, I need not elaborate on how the mirror contributes to supporting the solidification of belief systems regarding the loss of beauty in any number of ways, whether that be by aging, an injury, or even lack of sleep.  The mirror is always there to provide you with the chance to address your beliefs about these themes, whenever you are ready.

So the polished glass we gaze into, presumably checking for errant spinach in the teeth, represents much more than an image reflecting a carbon-based organism standing next to it.

Once these themes are addressed, we begin to use the mirror for other purposes.

It is utilized to look inside our own eyes, and assess our ability to face ourselves—up close, and magnified at times—regarding lingering matters that could benefit from the healing.   As each topic is attended to, the reflection in the mirror will gradually represent something new to our expanding sense of Self.

There will be more love and acceptance, and less concern about what we physically reflect to the world, since we know that the true source of the reflection transcends mere skin and bones…and is demonstrated through our deeds, actions and words expressed along the way.

So your mirror truly is your best friend, always with you, or at least nearby in any environment you may find yourself in on the game board.  Your eyes are the soul’s physical vessel, and every time you view yourself, you have the opportunity to look much deeper than the mere image reflecting back at you. You can modify that reflection, simply by looking into your own eyes and loving what you see there.

happening now: itchy underarms
Awakening Rants, Awakening Signs, Life on Earth,

Happening Now: Underarm Madness

It’s the pits, for sure. Yet your underarms are great indicators that your body wants some change.

It started with one person reporting this to me, and then another, and another.  But until I felt it myself, I couldn’t attribute this physical symptom to the awakening process.

One day, you may wake up and whatever you put on your armpits seems to burn and itch as if you rubbed hydrochloric acid under there.  Of course, you didn’t, but it can sure feel like that when you aren’t used to experiencing anything odd during your morning routine.

For me, it was an overnight thing:  one day, everything was fine. Then the next day, I used my regular natural deodorant, and it felt very different. Besides the irritation that made me feel like a puppy annoyed by an itch he can barely reach, my underarms felt angry! Irritated, annoyed, stomping their figurative feet on the ground as if to say, “No more of this.”

Before I let you know the answer I received when I asked the Universe for the reasoning behind this newest unwelcome symptom, I want to recommend that you do your own research regarding aluminum in your anti-perspirant.  If you are still using an anti-perspirant at all (which requires aluminum to stop you from sweating), then you may want to reconsider that.  There are many scientific, as well as metaphysical, resources on what aluminum does to the body.  Please look into these and adopt the practice that resonates with you.

I have not used anti-perspirant for nearly a decade, so the symptoms described above apply to even those pits who are not being infused with aluminum daily.

OK, so why?  WHY?  Why can’t just one part of the body not be affected by awakening symptoms?  It’s a rhetorical question, by the way.  Just assume that every part of your body will be affected in some way, shape or form, as you awaken.

As for underarms, their main purpose is twofold:  to regulate body temperature, and to release toxins.

Chances are, if your pits suddenly have become inflamed, itchy and annoying (!) you have not been eating all that well, and your body is doing its best to detox itself.  So anything you add to the toxins you are sweating out will react with them and attempt to get your attention by nearly driving you to insanity.

My suggestion?  Consider what you are eating–did you go on a vacation and eat foods outside of your normal, healthy diet?  Alcohol beyond its normal quantity? Junk food?  Yeah.

The fastest way to freedom is of course, to let your pits heal.  Avoid the deodorant if possible, for a few days.  And pay attention to the inside of you, and what you’re dumping down your mouth.

If you are one to consider a detox, here is one that I have used very successfully to clear the body of toxins:

Dherbs 10-day Express Cleanse

(I have no affiliation with this provider, so feel free to find a suitable one for you if this one doesn’t call your name).  I found that the 10-day cleanse was perfect to reset the balance in my body.

Aim to stay as natural as possible, without chemicals you can’t pronounce, and by all means if you feel guided to see a doctor, please do so.  A lot of the potency of a cleanse includes regulating what you put in your body while you are cleansing.

Hope this helps those of you experiencing this new and annoying symptom.

See our Symptoms page for more symptoms you may be experiencing.

believing inner voices
Awakening Rants, Featured, Life on Earth,

Which inner voice should I believe?

Do you know what your Higher Self’s voice sounds like?

We’re told that consulting the “larger part” of ourselves is the most dependable way to ensure that our desires correlate with those of our soul plan.

Let’s say that you need to make a decision, and so you ask yourself a question: “What is the best option for me at this time?”

Asking yourself a direct question is always the best and most efficient way to get to where you want to go.  Your Higher Self is right there, waiting for you to ask.

Depending on how much mind chatter you still have in your internal conversations, you may get an answer in a string of words, or an image, or a feeling, or if you are really attentive to your outside surroundings, a synchronicity that is so perfectly timed that you know its connected to your inquiry.

In the beginning of your awakening, your answer will most likely come to you in words.  That’s traditionally been the “reliable” method of communications for humans, after all…forget the fact that leaving out a comma can cause all sorts of issues with the statement being made:

“Let’s eat, Grandma.”

“Let’s eat Grandma.”

So, yeah, words aren’t that dependable.

What about the voice delivering those words?  Where is it coming from?  Whose voice is it?  And is one voice easier to believe than another?

I have a friend who begged for the voice to be someone besides her own, so she could be positive that it wasn’t her mind playing tricks on her. And when it finally happened that she received a message from a strange man’s voice, she freaked out and demanded it go away immediately…and followed by frantically burning sage throughout the house just to ensure that she wasn’t dealing with a negative entity trying to take control over her.

If the voice sounds like your own, you may doubt it as your mind rather than your Higher Self.  And if the voice sounds like a stranger, your “fight or flight” reaction could take over…along with the fear that your head will soon do a 360 on your own neck, and you lack the acquaintance of a priest brave enough to lock himself in a room with you for an all-night exorcism.

Words.  They aren’t that dependable.

Requiring your answer delivered by words is simply leftover ingrained programming from a society that seeks to control those who won’t make decisions for themselves. If you are reading this, then you are moving away from that programming, and you are moving towards sovereignty.

So next time you ask a question, send out an intention with it:

“I would like the answer to come to me in a manner that alleviates doubt as to the legitimacy of the message.”

And one more thing you may need to face:

Every voice is YOURS, no matter if it sounds like Grandma, your creepy next door neighbor, or your own.

It takes a bit of time to transmute those old doubts, and so we take small steps in the recognition of ourselves being the creator of our reality.  We still tend to believe information delivered from external resources over internal messages, and so we unconsciously label the speaker as someone other than ourselves in order to suspend the doubt and accept the message.

So when you hear Grandma’s voice answering your question, you may feel more comfortable with that soft, gentle tone.  And that’s totally OK.

But no matter which voice is delivering words to you, there is one more step, which transcends the content of the sentence.  It requires you to FEEL in addition to listening:

Check with your gut about the answer you’ve received.

Your gut never lies.  Never. Ever. Ever.

Your Higher Self speaks to you through the gut.

So it really doesn’t matter whose voice is speaking to you, because words are filtered through the brain every time. Your Higher Self doesn’t bother with the brain, since it’s undependable, it’s programmable, and it’s fickle. And God forbid, you leave out a comma.

Practice discernment by picking up the internal “red phone” connected directly to your gut, and your answer will be there, at the other end of the line, every time.

Eventually, you will feel more comfortable jettisoning the words, and your answers will come to you in a variety of ways, all of which, in my opinion, are more comprehensive, more colorful, and much more fun.

its ok to wake up with a calm mind
Awakening Signs, Featured, Life on Earth,

Something’s Wrong With Me! I Woke Up This Morning With An Empty Mind

Words are an integral part of the current human condition. They can encourage, admonish, or cut like a knife.  Yet when they are absent, we are taught to worry about it.

It’s common for most humans to lay their heads on the pillow with a mind full of chatter: what needs to be done tomorrow, someone we forgot to call, what we should have said to to the co-worker about his thoughtless comment this morning.  Layer on top of that the repetitive final glances at things with screens, concerned we might miss an important message before we lay ourselves down to rest.

It’s no wonder that 25 million Americans suffer from sleep-related conditions. We can’t shut it off; but we sure try, with alcohol, sex, and pharmaceuticals.

But Earth’s population is waking up, and with that comes some changes to your brain’s thought patterns, including a reduction in the chatter that previously dominated your awareness.

The farther you travel on the path to awakening, the less hold that words will have on you.

Your inner thoughts will begin to shift to predominately images and concepts, because the two-dimensional aspect of most words will no longer be sufficient to describe what you’re feeling inside.

And there will come a day, when you wake up in the morning, and there are no words swimming through your head the minute your eyes open.  Your mind can wake up refreshed, calm, and empty.

This can be a shocker for those of us who are so accustomed to the instant morning “on-button.” It’s easy to worry that something is wrong with you.

But guess what, Lightworker?  It’s called peace, and believe it or not, it’s your natural state.

Our minds have been so habitually cluttered, that when we wake up with a calm one, we think that something has gone wrong.

Western society has been programmed to find a state of peace as flawed.

Depending on which reality you’re focusing on, you can thank the social programming that warns of imminent memory loss and deadly brain tumors.

Or, if you’re focusing on a higher level of creation—one in which you recognize your role as the creator of your reality—check the programs running through your head about words = action = accomplishment.

Can you imagine yourself waking up in the morning at peace, with an empty head, ready to create your day with a clean slate? Can you imagine a new state of being, in which your mind is not cluttered with endless words, lists and concerns that have little to do with your long-term growth?

It starts by understanding that silence is OK.

A calm mind is the normal state for the awakened individual.

It happens when you face the fears that keep peace at arm’s length, because the human ego is very frightened of the unknown.  Fears are tricky; they are masters at crafting powerful potential catastrophic scenarios to keep you in the place of powerlessness. It’s when you face them head on that they, along with the accompanying words, lose their power over you.

So, Lightworker, nothing is wrong with you if you wake up with a calm mind.  It’s the sign that your heart is winning over your head.

Let’s have a silent cheer for that accomplishment.

energetic crosshatching video
Featured, Videos,

VIDEO: Energetic Crosshatching Visualization

This self-healing visualization is created for those who wish to take larger control of their evolution by eliminating the lower-vibrational areas of the body which house old traumatic events, sad memories and obsolete programming.

Kimberly shows you how to access the memories directly, without reliving the situation that created them, then match their vibration, and replace them with light using energetic crosshatching, or “painting with light.”

You’ll then refill your body with cleansed light to complete the visualization in a higher frequency than that which you started.

I always find it important here to note that if you get into the quiet state necessary to perform this visualization, and you feel intuitively guided to seek medical assistance, then please honor that. Your body is capable of telling you what it needs. Seeing a doctor, if called to do so, is taking responsibility for your health, rather than a weakness. It doesn’t imply that you are subject to 3D matrix oppression. Utilizing this visualization along with any appropriate medical assistance embraces your willingness to view life from varying perspectives, all of which are valid. There is no one right path!

Should you wish for this video to be created in audio format, please let me know.

My greatest desire is to facilitate growth in those who take personal responsibility for their own spiritual, emotional, mental and physical health.

Love.

belief in impossible things
Awakening Rants, Featured, Life on Earth, The Esoteric,

Believing the Impossible: You CAN Be The First

Once we solidify the understanding that we are creating our reality, we start contemplating the viability of things—wild things—generally thought impossible.

“You can’t do that,” that old grumpy ego self tells you.  “No one has ever done that.”

And the new you?  Soon enough, if not already, you’ll answer with “Watch me.”

We’ve been living under a veil of limitations that is now lifted, and should you choose to embrace that, the sky is the limit.  And simply because no human has seemingly done something you would like to do, is not indication that it’s impossible.  It merely hasn’t been done yet, to your knowledge.

Think of some occurrences that we would never have thought possible, until someone tried them:

  • Someone believed that willow bark can heal any number of ailments, including staving off heart attacks. Now it’s called aspirin.
  • Someone believed that a mile could be run in 4 minutes, despite being told it was physically impossible.  Roger Bannister believed it, and since that day in 1954, over 1400 athletes have followed suit (some shaving another 15 seconds off of Roger’s time.)
  • It was widely believed in the late 1800s that the maximum possible speed any human could ever travel without suffocating was around 30mph. No reference needed here if you have ever driven on a California highway.
  • Someone said “It’s quite possible that within the next 100 years there will be a telephone in every town.” He was laughed at, apparently. That was Alexander Graham Bell.  He didn’t think big enough, in my opinion.

My point:

There is always a first.  If you desire to do something seemingly impossible in today’s world, yet can’t let go of the doubts, then check your beliefs about self-worth.

You no longer need to live within the status quo.  It was always a choice, by the way, but you forgot.  Now that you remember, you can choose otherwise.

Why self worth?

Let’s look at some common illusory statements that have been stuffed down your throat since you were born (that includes other Earth lives as well, to be sure):

  • You’re not smart enough to do that.
  • You don’t have the education to do that.
  • No one has ever done that.
  • It takes years of practice to be that good at that.
  • You’re too old to try that.  Maybe when you were younger.

BULLSHIT!

That is all bullshit, my friends. You’ve merely been exposed to fear-based programming that kept you controllable.  And you can de-program yourself by changing what you believe.

Anything that you can think of, you can experience.  Period.

It’s all in your beliefs that you can, or can’t, that make the difference between you doing something, and you shutting yourself off to the possibility.

If you think you can, or you think you can’t…either way, you’re right.

~Henry Ford

So if you have the desire to try something “impossible” that would make you go “SQUEEEEEEE,” then ride that wave.  Stay in the vibration of it for as long as possible, and ask your Higher Self for assistance from the non-physical side of you.  Those etheric tools are just waiting for your invitation to be put to use.

Remember that any pits in your stomach that arise, are doubts based on someone else’s opinion of what is, and is not, possible; and you simply believed them long ago.  You can un-believe them just as easily, now that you are sharpening your own previously-rusty, creative tools for use in the 3D physical world.

Now many others around you have not done the inner work that you are doing, and because of this, they may discount your wild statements as fantasy, craziness or wishful thinking.  I don’t suggest sharing your adventurous plans with those who will not support you.  It’s not that they are bad friends, but rather that they may still be too ingrained in the illusion to be a willing cheerleader on the sidelines for something they still consider impossible.

It’s time to pull out the toolbox and dust off those creative skills that have been trapped inside, waiting for you to wake up.  As you recall, things put away and ignored are merely stopped up energy.

You have a lot of power in that toolbox. Pop open the lid, and use your imagination.  It’s how the Universe expands.

tie up loose ends to keep energy flowing
Featured, Life on Earth,

Are There Loose Ends To Tie Up?

Everything in our Universe is made of energy. People, things, and actions. The nature of this energy is to flow; it’s easy to focus on the people and things flowing into and out of our lives…but have you given any thought to the actions?

If you have ever moved from one city to another, you know that there are a lot of actions involved in the process.  Packing this item, cancelling this subscription, donating that appliance. And in your new city, there’s unpacking this book, filing this contract, and subscribing to that gym.

Those actions are all comprised of energy. It takes energy to unpack something, to find a place to put it, and to change your mind as you recreate your new sanctuary. Not only are you burning physical calories, but energetic calories are being expended too.  This is a great thing…it’s change…and it aligns you with the natural flow of energy in the Universe.

And when it comes to unpacking a multitude of boxes after a move, it’s easy to leave the task incomplete by throwing a few of those unpacked boxes somewhere in a closet to deal with later.

But that energy that’s jonesing to flow is now plugged up; both for the contents inside the box, as well as the action of placing them in your new environment. Stuck in the box, they are denied the flow that defines energy particles.

And that blocked energy is now attached to you.

What happens when you don’t perform an action begging to be made?

The same thing that happens when you shake a soda bottle.  Pressure builds. And after the pressure is built, if you try to open the top slowly, you are immediately sprayed with soda. Yet if you open the top quickly, you stay dry and you get to enjoy more of the beverage.

What will this “pressure” feel like in daily life?  You’ll walk past that closet, and your stomach will sink.  “I really need to go through those boxes,” you’ll think, further bombarded with related derisive thoughts about having no time, not wanting to deal with it, or recalling a physical ailment that precludes you from carrying boxes at this time.

The ego is tricky.  It doesn’t love change, so it does what it can to keep you right where you are.

Our Universe lovingly smirks at the human ego, and continues to exist in its most authentic nature. So flow is going to happen, and any attempts to stop it up will fail.

So if you ignore those boxes for too long, then you’ll get a little wake up call.  Perhaps there was an unpaid bill stuffed in between a pile of papers…you receive the call from the collections department (!) and now you’re forced to unplug that energy in quite a nasty way.

Or leaking batteries that ruin your family photos. Or a melted candle on your birth certificate. I could go on.

Your attempts to stop the flow of energy will result in a reciprocal, harder pushback from the Universe.

This is also called procrastination, by the way. And it’s one of the best lessons about “flow.”

The Law of Attraction is in full force on this concept.  What you send out, you get back.

So consider what you might get back from scorned boxes stuffed in a closet?

Or a delayed dental cleaning?

Or a government paper you keep forgetting to file?

Or a skipped workout?

How do you tell if you are procrastinating about something, or just letting the Universe take care of things?

You gotta ask yourself.

It’s not about consulting the clock to see if you have time (external!).  It’s about opening the closet, staring at the boxes, and feeling how you feel when you encounter their energy.  That sinking feeling in your gut is an indication that there is stopped up energy there. It’s your signal that if you don’t attend to it soon, things are going to get bigger.

Also, look for little clues that pop into your life. Once, I kept receiving coyote calls on my mobile phone, and two different of my work numbers…recorded calls advising that I could get a “better credit card” if I pressed #2.

“I have good interest rates, no thank you,” I said to the robot on the phone.

Fast forward a DAY later, and a little itch in the back of my mind had me wondering if I really did have good interest rates. Lo and behold, one of my providers had jacked up the interest rate after some promo period ended, on schedule, but forgotten by me, and I would have been stuck paying 25% more had I not logged in to check, and pay off, the balance.

Those calls you get, the repetition of images, numbers, or words….they are all signs being sent to you (by you) to indicate there’s some information there to help you take action.  This is how the Universe helps you take care of things. Its aim is to re-initiate the flow before the pressure has built up too far and blows up in your face.

So tie up those loose ends, my loves, if your gut informs you it’s necessary.  And remember to send that energy back out imprinted with your quirky, unique signature.  That’s how you help change the world.

VIDEO: Banish Frumpiness! Simplify Your Wardrobe

Awakening redirects our focus inwards, and as Grandma said, a cluttered closet reflects a cluttered mind. Dammit, Grandma was right again.

This video was created for all of those who struggle with mass amounts of unused clothes and shoes in their closets. Not only do those clothes have energy of their own, but if you aren’t using them, they can drain your own energy just by your having them around.

This is a slightly satirical video, so if you are looking for profound wisdom about The Event, or when aliens are going to land on the White House Lawn, then keep searching 🙂

Kimberly does address some “past life” issues, such as poverty, abundance and external approval, that you may be facing if you have a closet full of clothes you just haven’t been able to purge. Remember, your past lives are occurring now, right alongside THIS one that you’re focusing on, so may as well clear out not only your closet, but your antiquated belief systems along the way.

Grandma will be proud when you finally rid yourself of the things that no longer serve you.

Blooper at end.

should I visualize in detail
Featured, Life on Earth,

Should I Visualize in Detail, or Leave it Up to the Universe?

“I hear some places that I should visualize in as much detail as possible. Then I hear from other places that I shouldn’t worry about the details, and let the Universe do it. Which is right?”

It depends on which part of the manifestation process you’re looking at.  To master the art of conscious manifestation, we aim to master three Universal Laws.

Let’s look at each Law as it applies to visualization.

The Law of Attraction

What you send out, you get back.  It’s a vibrational thing if you need to add physics into the mix to believe it: Like Attracts Like.  This law applies whether you know you are doing it, or not.

The Law of Deliberate Creation

Now knowing that what you send out you get back, here’s your chance to make conscious decisions about what it is you actually WANT to experience in your physical world.

Send out the image in as much detail as is important to you. If it’s not important, such as the color of your next partner’s eyes, then don’t bother visualizing it. We incarnated with the desire for some surprises!  Then feel the feeling of having what you sent out.  Remain in the feeling of having it for as long as you can.

The Law of Allowing

After you’ve defined what you want, and sent it out, now you allow it in.  This part is the most challenging for us, since we were raised in a society that asserts that change only occurs by taking physical action.

It is this part of the manifestation process that trips people up when it comes to details: they try to rationalize in their minds how they will get from where they are…..to where they want to be.

This is merely a case of using outdated tools! We are attempting to define the holographic process of creation through linear terms. Your reality is holographic, and you are not limited by linear time unless you believe that you are. Try using a new tool:  Trust.

Rather than taking action or worrying about you needing to be in the right place, at the right time for your desired outcome to occur, leave that part up to the Universe. Go have fun!

You can move to any timeline that you can imagine, and jumping to it is simply the process of focusing on the preferred timeline more often than you focus on the current one, with a knowing that both are just as real. You will soon begin to see bits and pieces of your desired timeline show up in your physical reality.

Still a big pill to swallow?

Of course you may slip up in the beginning. There is no need to chastise yourself if you find yourself devising a path from where you are to where you want to be. We’re letting go of time, for crying out loud. That’s a big belief system for most people to transmute; and you’ll get there as you see more examples of how malleable time really is.

And when you loosen up on yourself about any slip-ups, you allow those old belief systems to arise and be processed.  Try it with a toy laser gun if you tend to be hard on yourself.

So in answer to your question, both resources are right, depending on which part of the manifestation process you’re focusing.  Send it out in detail, and allow your desire to show up in its own package.  The specifics you sent out will be included, and yet your new partner’s eye color will be a welcome surprise to you.

Win-win!

woman with umbrella after breakup
Awakening Rants, Featured, Life on Earth,

When Your Love Is Not Accepted

You’ve heard that love is the key that opens all locks. So what happens when you encounter a door that won’t open, even if you’re turning the key with all the love you have?

There are times when we love someone so deeply, so completely, and yet they are unwilling—or unable—to reciprocate. So should we hang around and “hold the space” for them until they come to their senses and love us back? Or should we move on in hopes of finding someone else?

That depends on how you feel about yourself. Here’s why:

Every relationship is a reflection of you.  Every person that you are aware of, is giving you the chance to decide who you are in that set of circumstances. They come to you, and you to them, for the opportunity to co-create within this holographic game, via collaborative teamwork.

Not only are you choosing situations that mutually explore your personal themes, but you also get to paint on the Universal canvas, with any brush that you like, with others at your side.

So how you feel about yourself in terms of the relationship you’re experiencing, will determine what you will glean from your partnership.  If you’re awake, you’ll most likely deal with a situation like this in a very different manner than when you’re still asleep.

Let’s view an “unhappy” ending from two perspectives: Asleep, and Awake.

Karen loves Steve with all her heart.  She gives everything she has, and trusts that everything will work out, aiming for a loving, lifetime partnership.

But Steve isn’t all that into her. She’s good to have around, because she pays her bills, cooks for him, and does laundry every Saturday.  He dreams of greener pastures, with more freedom, where he doesn’t have to talk about his feelings all the time.

Eventually, Karen decides it’s time to move on; she’s exhausted from giving and giving, and receiving nothing in return. She’s heartbroken, worn out, and wildly distrustful of the Universe–with all its talk of “faith,” “belief” and “knowing.”

The time after the breakup is volatile for Karen, with feelings spouting like chronic volcanic eruptions, on both ends of the spectrum. As she heals, she goes within, maybe with a little help from red wine and long days parked in bed.  She processes her feelings, and, after awhile, she emerges back into society…single and opinionated.

If Karen is still asleep, she will probably re-enter society with a vengeance.

She’s sick of men and their animalistic behavior. She is worth more than that, and she’ll find someone who will appreciate her. She’ll be looking at the world through glasses tinted with bitterness (“that asshole doesn’t deserve me”), vindication (“He is HER problem now”) and cynicism (“Why bother? Things always end badly anyway”).

Blame will most likely be cast on her partner for his failure to return the love that she gave so freely.

If Karen is awake, she will re-enter society with humility.

Most likely, Awake Karen spent her breakup time largely focusing on themes centered around the relationship, rather than the shortcomings of her partner.

Areas of expansion may include self-worth (“why am I unlovable?”), trust (“why would the Universe do this to me?”), or independence (“why can’t I be alone?”).

Awake Karen would see the theme behind the co-creation, and recognize the growth she’ll experience from it.  She might suffer in the process or she might not, depending on how much accountability she bears for her performance in the show. Yet she knows that, ultimately, the relationship served everyone involved, and she appreciates the time they spent together.

So why enter into a relationship at all, if it can “fail” even though we gave it our all?

There are times when we, as humans, don’t see the whole picture just yet.

It’s hidden from us, BY us, in order to provide the unknowns necessary for choices to be made. It’s certainly so in the game of love, where expectations whirl like leaves in the autumn wind.

And people grow at different paces, determined by their level of focus, willingness to look within and stabilize themselves from earlier failures, traumas and disappointments.

Self-observation raises your frequency; and we attract those of similar vibration to our own.  If frequencies vary too greatly in a partnership, the relationship will end, to make room for a more-aligned one. It’s always a gift, even if it doesn’t feel like one just after the process.

So hold onto your key, and use it to unlock some doors in your own self.  The more doors you open from within, the more doors will be open out there, in your physical world.

That is true love.
