Have you ever regretted saying yes to something when you should have said no?
Well, you know that regrets are ego-driven. But besides that, we have all volunteered to do something, for someone, somewhere, and when the time came to do it, we debated whether to follow through or not.
It’s easy to not follow through. You could:
“Contract” a sudden flu that keeps you home.
“Get” a flat tire on the way.
Blame it on traffic.
Basically, you would lie. Plain and simple, if you don’t follow through with a commitment, and you use any other excuse rather than the truthful one, you’re sending out lies.
OK, well we know what happens when we send out something. It comes back to us.
So, next time you are asked to make a commitment, be authentic.
If you don’t want to do it, then say no with love and kindness, and there need not be an explanation.
You are creating your reality, and you always have an infinite number of choices. Will you choose a choice that reflects the best person you could be? Isn’t that what you want coming back to you in the guise of other people?
And if you’re reading this and you have an upcoming dreadful commitment to fulfill, then honor that shit and rock it while you’re doing it.
