woman picking up litter
Awakening Rants, Life on Earth,

When Someone Litters In Front of You

No doubt you’ve seen someone carelessly throw litter on the ground, and continue walking along.

This happened to me , as I was eating on the patio of a restaurant on Santa Monica Boulevard. It was a quiet day, and a great time to observe people as they passed by.

One man, crossing the street in lazy conversation with a friend, pulled the lid off of his drink and tossed it on the ground in front of me.

How careless! How ignorant of him! What a jerk.

But wait! We Lightworkers are enlightened beings! We rise above petty judgments and harsh thoughts about our fellow man!

A lifetime went by in three of his steps on the sidewalk. I gazed in agony at the jettisoned lid on the ground in front of me. I glared at the man, who glanced over to see my iron stare.

“Are you going to pick that up?” I asked.
“You pick it up,” he laughed, and without missing a stride, he and his friend walked past.

I fumed in silence.

There it sat. Dozens of people walked past it, some even casting glances at it as they did. But no one picked it up.

Perhaps litter is part of your natural habitat, where you are. The litter, in this case, isn’t the focus of this discussion. The real question is, what do you do when someone’s beliefs about reality are so vastly different than yours that they incite your anger?

In his reality, his actions were justified.  Littering is OK.
In my reality, his actions were not. Littering is not OK.

Whose reality is correct? One in which littering is acceptable, or one in which it is not?

The answer: Both are correct. Both are valid. Both have a place here on Earth.

Learning to share the game board with others living in completely different realties is one of the biggest lessons we’ve come here to learn. This is the framework of unity.

Accepting diversity has certainly been the Collective’s biggest challenge.
It starts wars.
It fosters bigotry.
It fills mental institutions.

You get the picture.

So how is life different when all realities are considered valid?

This is where you get to define yourself. In times like this, you get to observe your reactions to this little diversity test, and you get to figure out who you will be.

Do you admonish the person?
Do you silently seethe?
Do you judge?
Do you pick up the litter?

You may do all of the above, like I did. I picked up the lid, and I walked the few feet to the trash can to throw it out.

Situations such as these are valuable reminders that others’ beliefs are simply their view of reality, and they have a right to share this world with you. You may not like their behavior, and yet by observing your reactions to it, you are constantly redesigning yourself, and integrating all of the different You’s back into the whole.

Are you afraid of doing the wrong thing? Angry at yourself for your judgments? Consider being kinder to everyone involved, especially yourself. You never make mistakes. You only create opportunities for expansion with every action you take.

Your reactions are your choice, always. So no matter what your decision, it is valid and purposeful for your growth.

Stuck In a Party Full Of Strangers?  Look For The Guy In The 80’s Jacket.

How did you feel the last time you walked into a party populated with strangers?

A little bit of social anxiety? Vulnerability? Outright terror?  Did you walk in and awkwardly get yourself the fastest-working alcohol available?  Been there.

Then, I bet, you started to look for someone you know in the crowd. It’s navigation time, so off you go, drink in hand, in search for someone that brings you comfort in a sea of scary strangers.

Oh no! You’ve searched the entire crowd, and your friends are not here yet.  Fiddling with your phone and checking for texts would certainly come next.  Plus, it makes you look busy.

But that only lasts for so long.  You realize that you are going to have to interact with someone, eventually.

  • “Oh, I don’t want to talk to him, he looks clingy.”
  • “OMG, what is up with her hair?”
  • “I’m not sitting next to that guy, hell no. Has he been wearing that jacket since the 80’s?”

For most of us, it’s automatic to search out the threats in a crowd, and to do our best to avoid them.  And yes, even an outdated jacket can be considered a threat.  I mean, what would you talk about?

“Obviously he and I have nothing in common.”

Are you sure?

I will bet that your initial judgment about him is largely based on historical programming; judgments made by beliefs planted in you by television, movies or well-meaning parents, rather than from previous direct experience.

Here is the truth:

You are divine.  All others are divine.

Is that concept a big jump for you?  And what does divine really mean?

You are a drop from a giant creative, omnipotent Lake—and you have all of the powers of that Lake, with NO limitations.

You have incarnated here to experience physicality, to grow, and to remember this truth.

Those fellow partygoers are also drops from this Lake, having a human experience, just as you are.  You are all equal drops, and you all have the same goal here. Even the guy in the Members Only jacket with ten buckles.

Why not see others as friends?

If they are sharing your party, then they have chosen to be there on not only the physical level, but on higher levels as well.  You are there to serve each other, through your mutual interactions.  Remember, you get back what you send out.

So the next time you go to a party, remind yourself of your common goals before you enter the room.  Don’t expect that everyone remembers these goals just yet, just as you forget from time to time.  It needn’t stop you from treating them as if they do remember.

This is how you recognize the divinity in another, and this is how you create that ideal life you’ve been dreaming of.  You’ll be creating from a higher level, one that is not hindered by judgments and false beliefs about reality.

Remember, we’re all friends.

Trigger Message: Are You STILL Waiting For Your Twin Flame?

The Twin Flame Theme is playing itself out quite nicely on Earth.

Do you feel like you have a divine counterpart out there, somewhere…and does that yearning dominate your waking hours?

“Where is she?”

“When will he find me?”

“Why is it taking so long?”

Well, my beautiful friend, you are not alone.  And you are not going crazy. Although our world would have you think so for every moment that you spend pining for someone you’ve perhaps never met, hoping that two lost souls will find each other like needles in a haystack.  This is one of the deepest longings a human can have, and it’s happening to millions of us.

Perhaps you delve into YouTube for clues and predictions about when your partner will arrive. “When will it happen? Will our worlds align at the next solstice?” For only when he or she arrives, can you start living your life, right?

It doesn’t work that way.

Now those videos on YouTube are from well-meaning people.  They are reading the energy of the Collective and they want to give you hope. Perhaps it is the next solstice, or maybe the New Year will bring this beautiful lover into your world.  Nevertheless, your Twin Flame won’t arrive until you make some changes on the inside.

Before you click away from the page because you’ve heard this before, consider how well those prediction videos have been working.  Have they brought you clues as to where he/she is? Chances are that they haven’t brought you to your partner.  Because the perfect partner you’ve been yearning for is already there with you, right now.  It’s you.

As long as you continue to look out there, you will see the lack of something you feel will complete you.  You will count how many months–or years–you’ve been waiting, and you’ll doubt the laws of attraction that govern our world. But those same laws of attraction never falter.  So that hopeless feeling you’re sending out is coming right back to you as more hopelessness.  And right back to Twin Flame predictions you’ll go, because you are looking for more hope to fill that gap.

If this is you, then I would invite you to read the message below.  It was created to plant a seed in you. This seed will sprout into an internal process of belief review. You may cry. You may find anger. And through this review, you will greatly increase your chances of encountering your Twin Flame, if that is truly your desire.

A trigger message for those still awaiting the arrival of their Twin Flame:

How do you feel about giving pleasure to others with your body?

Do you enjoy it?

Have you ever given pleasure to your partner and discounted your own?

End of message.

Why are the questions above pertinent to finding your lost lover?  I’ll lay out the mechanics for you.

For the last 13,000 years, Earth has been playing in the game of high polarity. You can call it Dark vs Light, or Good vs Evil. Patriarchy has ruled, in which the thrusting force (male, negative, external) is stronger than the allowing force (female, positive, internal).

We pass through such cycles every 13,000 years; and in 2012, we began the new cycle of balancing feminine energy.  You may have heard it called the Era of the Goddess.  It’s an age of BEING rather than DOING.  Of accepting, of unifying, of allowing in.  Of balancing that outward thrust with inner awareness.

Sounds serene, doesn’t it?

Well in order to get there, for both the individual as well as the Collective, we must swing in the other direction by behaving differently than we did for the last 13,000 years.

There is no doubt in my mind that you, or someone you know, has been abused in their past. Abuse is one example of this imbalance. It was played out on any number of levels:

  • Emotional (bullying, institutions such as the military),
  • Physical (drunk beatings by a parent, sexual abuse)
  • Spiritual (the church and its hypocritical abhorrence for pleasures of the body)
  • Mental (teachers telling you you’re not good enough)

In all of the examples above, there was one entity asserting power over another. The Lion and the Lamb, if you like to read ancient texts.

Since we’re all connected, we carry around the memories of all of these instances–from every life that’s ever been lived in an abusive situation–inside our cells.

These cellular memories affect our view of life if accessed consistently.  Plus, if in this lifetime you’ve experienced any of the above, then you are accessing these memories even more.  They compound into beliefs about yourself and your worth. And, especially if someone used your body without your permission in this lifetime, then you might carry some imbalance related to this theme.

Contemplate your feelings about the pleasure that YOU receive through intimate encounters.

Do you feel loved? Safe? Heard?

You may not derive any pleasure from intimacy, because previous experiences have been based on someone using you for their own pleasure.  Such events need not be limited to the bedroom; a screaming drill sergeant can derive just as much pleasure at berating you as any creepy perpetrator.

If intense feelings arise about this, do whatever you can do to safely feel them, including counseling if you feel you need it.

This type of energy can be cleared out much more efficiently now that we are on the feminine side of the cycle. You have endless support, more unity, and more understanding by fellow souls that have experienced similar circumstances.

By reviewing how (or if) you allow yourself pleasure, you are not only healing your own energetic imbalance, but you’re also healing the Collective as well.

So does this mean I won’t meet my Twin Flame until I’m healed?

Not necessarily.  Let’s go back to mechanics to explain.

The Law of Attraction dictates that “like attracts like,” and no doubt you are looking for the best version of a partner you can possibly imagine.  He or she will embody all of the values you deem important in a lover, and you would naturally want for yourself someone who has healed themself of major imbalances. I don’t know a single person that envisions an ideal lover that’s batshit crazy!

Such a person is of a particular frequency. And in order to experience that frequency, you need to match it.

Do you think that you will attract a person with all of those values if you aren’t living them yourself?

Now no one will be perfect while in a human body. So no need to expect it from yourself, or from anyone else you encounter. You do want healthy, though, and that health starts with you, the attracting force in this whole scenario.

By reviewing your beliefs about your power over your own body, you take care of yourself. You’ll then focus on allowing in another person who shares your values, who wants the same things that you do; and you’ll be allowing them in on your terms, not merely theirs.

This is you, regaining your power, and serving humanity at the same time. When you decide to let your Twin Flame in, rather than giving them all the power to come to you…then you’ll draw that person to your side.  It’s Law.

Happening Soon: Truman in the Control Room

As you continue your inner work, your sense of power will return to you. You’ll be more in control of what happens in your surroundings.

The process of awakening entails learning to love yourself.  Through introspection and review of your current world overview, you will replace current non-serving beliefs with better ones.  This changes your perspective and returns your personal power back to you.

Let’s use an analogy to make it easier.

Have you seen the movie The Truman Show?

In the film, Truman navigates a world that appears completely real to him.  From his perspective, the surroundings are completely solid and natural.  But to those in the control room situated in the “moon,” the scenario looks much different.  They can modify the weather, and the length of the days, and who interacts with Truman, among other things.

Each individual, depending on their viewpoint, has a different concept of reality.  Those in the control room know that Truman’s world is illusory. When their work day is finished, they leave the control room to go home to their families, and experience what they believe is the REAL reality.

Now let’s compare that to the way we live on Earth. The situation is similar, in that there is a part of you that navigates your physical world with the belief that this is the one and only reality. There is also a part of you in the control room that is well aware that the reality the physical you is experiencing is malleable and illusory. You could even go a step further, and be Christof (interesting name choice, eh?), the planner of it all.  These are all aspects of yourself, living on different levels, experiencing life from different viewpoints.  All are valid to the one experiencing it.

As you evolve, you will identify more with those in the control room. And as you further evolve, you’ll also invite Truman up to the moon, where he can learn all about the elements of his world and how it was manipulated to give him a particular experience.  But it doesn’t stop there.

For as your perspective grows, so will the collaboration.

Not only will Truman be a regular visitor to the control room, but he’ll also start helping decide how his environment is controlled.  He’ll ally with Christof to orchestrate his preferred weather, the experiences he’d like to have, and define who he’d like to meet “down there.”  They’ll be pooling resources, and together they’ll create an environment that enriches the lives of all involved.

This is where you’re headed.  You are much like Truman, albeit not a prisoner unless you believe that you are. You are also those in the control room, who want you to enjoy varied experiences.  And you are also Christof, who contemplates life as an art.

So view life from the grandest vista you can imagine.  It’s your show.

Awakening Rants, Life on Earth,

Waking Up In The Morning In A Horrible Mood?

The act of dreaming performs many functions.

While your body is regenerating itself, you are usually far from it, exploring other realities, current concerns, and processing things that you haven’t faced during your waking hours.

You’ll likely see heavy symbolism there, represented by archetypes of many Earthly themes that humans explore during their time on Earth.

So what to do when you wake up in an awful mood?

Well, if you’re like me, who lives a life through symbols, you may try to dissect the dream down to the bare bone.  Animals in a cage?  You’re stuck.  Always searching for something you cannot find?  The illusory belief in separation.  I could go on all day, but why?

You need not overanalyze.

In fact, you can choose to ignore all of the individual elements occurring in your dream, and simply focus on the feeling it left you with.

So if you wake up in a horrible mood, then chances are you were processing something icky.  And guess what?  You don’t even have to know what that icky thing was.

Your ability to process blocked energy is exponentially larger in your dream state.  Of course, humans were told that things that occur in this state are fantasy, and so we tend to discount their value altogether.  Once you allow in the belief that your dreams are serving you, then you open yourself up to the possibility of clearing that blocked energy—also called healing—while you sleep.  You need not consciously revisit every single traumatic event that left a mark on you in your daytime state.

You can wake up healed.  And generally, when you feel crappy in the morning, this is exactly what happened.

So why the low feeling upon waking?

Here are my two opinions on that:

1. So that you can learn to recognize the difference in your own frequency.  You went to bed feeling great, but woke up sad.

2. So that you can show gratitude to the Larger part of you for minimizing your suffering.

Both of these reasons allow you to appreciate the Universe’s perfect orchestration of events, while honoring your own growth as a human in an illusory world.

Raise Your Vibration

If you do wake up in a crappy mood, aim to raise your vibration in any way possible.  Try gratitude, appreciation, laughter, music.

For me, it’s coffee and remembrance that this occurrence is just part of a cycle of clearing and that my outlook on life is positive.  Sometimes, of course, it’s just plain hard to see the light. If all else fails for you, read this:

You never go backwards.

You are always evolving, and you never fall back, even if you think you do.  Your bad dream need not be a portent for upcoming crisis or disaster, unless you choose to think of it that way.  Since you are creating your own reality, whichever meaning you attach to that dream will stick.  Me, I choose such things to be unconscious gifts of clearance, and I leave it at that.

Your consciousness is vast.  Please learn to trust it.  Once that trust starts to solidify, you will no longer need to go over your subjects of healing with a fine-tooth comb.

You can simply Let. Them. Go.

Love to you.

Do Taxes Suck The Life Out of You?

If you’re like me, you file a tax extension every year, because April just comes too quickly after the holidays.

And since I’ve just done my deferred taxes from the year prior, why on Earth would I want to do them again so soon?

So when the deadline to file my extended taxes started barreling towards me, the dread built up even further at the thought of actually having to do them.

In previous years, my taxes were complicated.  There were forms for everything!  For business, for investment properties, and for a while, I even had to fill out a “farm form.”  Preparation was expensive, and there were a lot of receipts to wrangle.  Even getting to the accountant was a monumental task.

But this year, I let all of those obligations go. I was dragging all of it behind me with a chain.  So I sold or gave away everything I had, and adopted a life of true freedom.

And I still filed for a tax extension.

If I gave away everything, why would I still dread my taxes?  Surely there can’t be too many forms to fill out.

Consider how we predict the outcome of future events based on past ones.  Taxes have “always” sucked, and so this year they will suck again.  It’s proven itself true for past years, hasn’t it?

And because we tell ourselves things like this, it’s broadcast to the Universe, and that’s exactly what we get back.

Yet there might come a time where you are willing to try something different.  The old way hasn’t been working.  Is there another option for viewing the process of preparing a tax return?

Of course there is.  There are an infinite number of viewpoints surrounding taxes.  For accountants, it’s dollar signs.  For software companies, it’s market share.  For the IRS, well, that depends on who you ask.

So next time you’re ready to dread something, try conceding that there could be another option.  Try the statement “Let’s see what happens.”

As ambiguous as that sounds, it’s a great step forward!

You are allowing the larger part of You to steer you this time.  It can be scary, trusting yourself like that.  But through little increments such as this, you learn that you and your Self are on the same side.

How about telling yourself that things could be different?  Try an affirmation, and let’s see what happens:

“OK, this year I will suspend judgment about my taxes.” (…they still suck).

Doh, was that an afterthought, tacked on right after your awesome affirmation?

That’s how the unconscious works.  Its aim is to serve you, even if you don’t want its help.  But since you’ve repeatedly told yourself that taxes suck, it’s been ingrained in you, and your admonition that “taxes suck” is now a belief.

Beliefs won’t be restructured until you face them head on.

So, let’s try it again, and this time, monitor the thoughts that try to append themselves to your aspiration:

“OK, this year I will suspend judgment about my taxes.” ….

…….

…….

……. for how long can you feel the impact of the first statement, and maintain inner silence afterwards?

You’ll soon start to catch yourself if you append non-serving thoughts to benign statements. It will get easier to make adjustments when they show up.

“OK, this year I will suspend judgment about my taxes.”   Period.

So now that you’ve set your intention, you sit down and do your taxes. You’re punching in numbers, and it’s looking pretty OK.  You might be surprised at how much easier it was than in previous years, with technology and all.  Aside from that, you could be getting a refund when you expected to pay.

(Whether you end up paying, or not paying, both are your responsibility.  You might learn some lessons about handling money, and about procrastination.  Yet the process of filing your taxes is the same whether you owe or not.)

The purpose here is to bring your attention to how you label something, and how easy it is to accept that label as fact, simply because it’s been reinforced by your beliefs about it, over and over.

Since you are creating your reality through your beliefs, life will show you things that support them.  And since you previously believed that doing taxes sucks, it happened like clockwork every year.  Until you change that belief about taxes, you will continue to dread the process.  By even conceding that PERHAPS you could have a better experience this year, you are allowing new potentials to surface that your tunnel vision would never have allowed before.

Here is how you can change a belief about anything:

  • Think of a subject, person, or situation
  • Look at how you label it
  • Consider that there are other options
  • Allow an alternate option to present itself
  • Make a more aligned choice about your subject, person, or situation
  • Keep thinking it

Restructuring beliefs will be the single most forward-moving action you can take to propel you into a 5D perspective.  By rethinking your belief about taxes, you have paved the way for better options to present themselves; and soon, your physical reality will reflect those new beliefs.

So next year, no extension for me. And this year?  No “farm” forms, and I got a refund.

Featured, Life on Earth, The Esoteric,

Where Was That Place In Your Dream?  Here’s The Answer.

So you wake up from a night of sleep with wild fantastic images in your head.  Foreign landscapes, red skies, twin moons shining on the horizon.

It was a vivid dream, one you experienced with all of your senses, and it left an impression on you that stayed all day. Perhaps you pondered the relevance of your dream with all your mind’s fury.  “I must know the truth about my dream!” Here starts your search for an explanation.

Where was that place?

  • Was it an imaginary Wonderland invented by a bored human exasperated by a cubicle job?
  • Was it a distant region of Earth with vastly different terrain?
  • Or was it a completely different planet in a remote galaxy?

The human in us wants one answer.  A clean interpretation.  An explanation fully researched, evaluated, and then filed away as “solved.”  Humans are taught very early on to categorize things as “real,” and “not real.”

But know this:

While you are living an Earthly incarnation, you start out playing by Earth guidelines.  You will inherently accept the root assumptions of the game board: linear time, physical distance, duality, and separation.

You are told that these root assumptions are “real.”  Have you ever questioned this?

Also know this: All root assumptions that we were told were “real,” are actually “not real.”

All of them are merely ideas—adopted en masse—to establish some basic rules for the game.  And since it seems like everyone else is doing it, it must be right….well then those ideas are eventually accepted as fact.

In fact, they are not fact.  They are merely one option, among many, that you could choose to believe.  Yes! I’m saying that linear time does not exist; nor does physical distance, nor duality, nor separation.

It’s a bold statement, and very easy to dismiss as fantasy, when there are people out there telling you what is “real” and what is “not real.”

Yet chances are that when you dream, you experience aberrations of these structures all the time.  You fly.  You fall off of cliffs and get up.  Your teeth drop out all over the floor, but when you look in the mirror they are still there. You experience examples of these aberrations every day, but you dismiss them as “not real” because you’ve been told that the dream state is one of fantasy.

Your dreams of foreign landscapes are as much a fantasy as is your weekly trip to Trader Joe’s.

Every occurrence, whether asleep or awake, is an idea your Larger Self is having. And from its perspective, one state is not more “real” than any other.

Let’s apply this to your dream and the burning question you may have had all day:

“Where was that place?”

Now Creator (you!), here is your opportunity to use your inherent power of creation.  Rather than searching external sources for evidence of the place you visited, look inside.

You, as a divine portion of Source, have the ability to think any idea.  What does this mean for your life?

You can assign any meaning you choose to your dream.

….inevitably, when I say this to people in person, they squirm.

“But there is an answer!  Either I’ve got an overactive imagination, or I’m traveling to other planets while I sleep, or I’m supposed to visit Iceland…there’s an answer!”

And I’m here to tell you that you are correct.  There is an answer.  But that answer can be anything you want it to be.  Because not only did the dream originate from You for the purpose of expansion, you are also the person interpreting it.  And no matter which interpretation you give your dream, your focus on it will initiate growth and expansion in you.

The squirming occurs because we have been programmed to doubt our own power.

To imagine that we can CHOOSE the meaning of something and make it “real”?  How preposterous!

Yet you are the one creating your reality.  You do have that much power.  You created the dream, and you can give it any relevance you like; from adventurous, to healing, to ominous.

Once you go inside for the answer, your internal compass will lead you to an explanation that feels right for you.  It will feel exciting, expansive, maybe even juicy.  When you learn to trust yourself, the lines between your dream state and your waking state will blur.  It won’t matter what others think is “real” and “not real,” because you realize that you are setting those standards for yourself.

So where did you go, and what did that dream mean?

That’s entirely up to you.

Want Guaranteed Evolution? Ask Yourself One Question

We beat ourselves up here on planet Earth.  Rarely giving ourselves a break, internal scorning runs rampant unless we make the conscious choice to change our thoughts.

Perhaps you’ve had a tough day.  Things showed up unexpectedly; fires to put out, things you thought you put to rest but here they are, back again.  It’s easy to feel like we’ve not evolved at all.  So we start looking for reasons.

  • “Why is this happening?”
  • “Who threw a monkey wrench in my machine?”
  • “Where did this curve ball come from, that messed up my plans?”

We could send blame outwards, towards others; or even more pervasively, inward at ourselves.  One common method of making sense of such occurrences is by using historical reasoning from past events, to explain the happenings in our now.

What if it’s not the same reason at all?

If you are assigning a historical reason for a situation (“it happened for this reason before, so it must be happening for the same reason now”), then the odds are, you could be wrong.

Your assignment based on past experience is only one option of an infinite number of other options.  Any explanation you have is merely an idea about something, and you can change that idea at any time.  And, human, chances are that you cannot think of every single reason for something. There are surely possibilities that never entered your mind.

Since we live in a free-will zone, you have the power to choose a possibility that you desire, and focus on that.  Or, you could choose no possibility at all; leaving it up to the Universe to provide you with the best experience for your growth.

You could choose the idea that if it’s showing up in your life, it’s there for your expansion. So here is the most important question you could ask yourself on your path to recognizing your divinity as the creator of your reality:

Do you trust yourself?

Sit there for a moment and swirl that round in your head like a good cleansing mouthwash. It likely will seep into all corners of your brain, dislodging beliefs and doubts about your power and how you’ve wielded it in the past.

This is a trigger question for most people at a certain milestone in their journey. It is meant to unlock deep-seated beliefs for exploration and redesign if they no longer serve the evolving Self.

You will come up with an answer.

If it’s yes, then you are well on your way to creating your reality in unison with the Others that share your plane, and in collaboration with your Higher Self who has a bird’s eye view of your path.

If the answer was no, then look a little bit deeper into where you are giving away your power.

Try this for one day:

Consider the possibility that some part of you knows what you’re doing.

Even if you’ve never considered yourself that powerful, could you suspend the doubt for one day and consider that you ARE?  Could you imagine that everything that is happening to you has a purpose, a reason, and is relevant to the path you are on, and you don’t have to know that reason?

One day.

I invite you to trust yourself for one day.

That means, when you suddenly feel so tired that you need a nap, that you go take a nap.  That when someone steps into your path and asks for help, that you give it.  That when you’re stuck in traffic, there is a purpose for it.  Can you allow yourself to be guided without asking why?

For one day, you need not have an explanation for everything.

It might take some reminders along the way.  After all, this is behavior that is not widely supported in Western culture; sitting back, accepting things as perfectly orchestrated situations that we have all of the ability to handle.  So if you slip, aim at suspending the self-judgment.

It’s very likely that that old time-worn question will pop up: “Why is this happening to me?”

Remind yourself that you don’t need to explain it, and see what happens.  If something repeatedly pops up, write it in a journal and drop it from focus until tomorrow.

When tomorrow comes:  Check in.

How did it go?  Was the day easier?  Did you get done what needed to get done? Were you happy, curious, surprised?

Chances are everything worked out just fine.  No Armageddon, no ground shaking cataclysm toppled your world. You probably did just fine.  And I bet that you had quite a peaceful day, no matter how much physical effort was required in the living of it.

This is the path to recognizing your divinity.  Your personal power.  Your ability to trust the inner part of you that can see way more than you can.   If you can do it for one day, you can do it for more than one day.  And soon enough, it will be most days; and this will become your new normal.

Do you trust yourself?

stone wall
Awakening Rants, Featured, Life on Earth,

Using Pioneering Thoughts to Change Your Beliefs

We falsely assume that many of our beliefs are fact.

Each thought, pondered consistently, builds momentum until it solidifies into a virtual stone, that forms a virtual wall, called a belief. This wall acts as a filter for every subsequent thought we have; if a wall is particularly well-built, it can completely dam things up.  When no flow can get through, we call it a fact.  There’s little chance of getting around that wall.

Now realizing that we create our world based on facts, what if some walls were built with stones that aren’t actually real at all?

Let’s look at a belief held by a large proportion of Western society:

“There is not enough time in the day to get everything done.”

Now, find empirical evidence of this. Show me a textbook with supporting information as to its truth.  Direct me to a peer-reviewed study demonstrating indisputable substantiation of this theory in any respected academic journal.

It’s not a fact.

Yet many of us have thought this thought so often, that the belief has become a fact in our individual expressions of life.

Anyone that holds this belief will filter every thought through this wall.  Usually, it’s unconscious, but sometimes we are fully aware that we experience it.  If you complain about lack of time, or look at your watch with worry, then you are conscious of this belief on some level.

And then what happens?  That’s right!  Another day in which there was not enough time to get everything done.

If this is you, this is a great thing.  You have just uncovered a belief that you may falsely believe is a fact.  Now that it’s in the forefront of your mind, you can redesign it if you choose:

Are there are any alternate ways to think about “getting things done,” and of “time?”

Here are a few:

  • Oh, last Thursday, I got everything done.  That was a great day. So there have been days in which everything got done.
  • I’m still alive, so I must be getting the right things done so far.
  • Why do I have so much stuff on my list?
  • Do I really care that most of this stuff gets done at all?
  • What is time, anyway?

This progression of thoughts started with a concrete example of one time that you DID get everything done; this recognition serves to pull out one large foundational stone from the bottom of your wall.  You have just proven to yourself, by way of your own previous action, that the belief can be considered faulty in at least one instance. One instance is all you may need.

As we continue to ponder the concept, thoughts will drill down from concrete examples, to the reasoning behind the belief.  By asking increasingly pioneering questions, we pull more stones from the bottom of the wall.  And when enough stones are removed from the base of any wall, the whole wall will tumble.

Your pioneering thoughts will become more abstract, allowing more interpretations of what you thought were facts.  In our example above, we ended with questioning the meaning of “time.” Exploring what “time” means for you is like examining the composition of the stones that comprise your wall.

Yeah, it gets fuzzy. Logic and reasoning are not always the best tools to destroy such walls.  You might use them here and there, but most of the demolition is completed with the questions that make you search inside for answers.

These pioneering thoughts are how you, and the Universe, expand.

You have tools inside of you that are waiting to be used.  They are different tools than the ones you were given in school, or in church, or by your well-meaning parents.  These tools wait, ready to bring down the walls that have been blocking your path.

No need to use dynamite!  No need to make a lot of dust!

Those toppled stones that previously formed your wall can be used in other ways. These are aspects of yourself, contemplated; and you have made a decision about whether you prefer them or not.

You could use them to pave your path instead. Rather than walking INTO them, you might walk ON them.  Those you don’t prefer, you lay aside.  Perhaps you can make an orderly border with them; a neat reminder of your redesigned inner landscape.

Love to you.

girl with headphones
Awakening Rants, Life on Earth, Oneness,

Headphones all the time? You must not want to be bothered.

Do you love bopping down the street with inspiring music on? Lots of us do. That’s why headphones are so pretty nowadays.

So what happens when you’re in the midst of a killer song, and someone stops you to ask you a question? Can’t they see you’re listening to something?

You could be annoyed, having to turn off the tunes, to cater to the moving mouth facing you on the street.

Perhaps they were seeking directions, or—even more regretful in retrospect—they wanted to pay you a compliment.

But the message delivered to you is not the focus of this discussion.  What I want to talk about here is how you felt about being interrupted in the midst of doing something else.

In addition to annoyance, you could have felt fear. After all you don’t know this person, or their intentions. Whatever that feeling is, your initial reaction reflects your current belief about about oneness.

Here on Earth, we are all exploring the theme of separateness through the use of physical bodies. Therefore, we hold some sort of belief about what the “others” out there mean to us. Are they good? Annoying? Unpredictable? Inherently bad? Hopeless sheep? Exciting?

Your view of the nature of “others” shapes the “others” that you meet.

Through encounters such as these, you get to decide who you are. That’s why there are other people in your world at all.

Every.single.person.that.you.meet.is.a.reflection.of.you.

Not just some of the time.  Not just intimate relationships, or family.  Every single person, no matter how short the interaction, is a reflection of you in some way.

Now let’s add a layer:

What if the person who stopped you on the street was wearing tattered clothes? Or if she were a hot woman in a tight dress? Or an elderly person appearing anxious? Or a crying child?

Who are you in each of those situations?

Through introspective contemplation, you can uncover beliefs that might benefit from redesign. By visualizing yourself in each of the scenarios above—and focusing on how you felt during the encounter–you can then discover the unconscious programs that have been governing your behavior.

However you acted, there is a part of you that feels the same way about yourself. Since all people are reflections of you, this person offers you the opportunity to locate that area of blocked energy.  To clear it out. And to choose a better-serving belief from now on.

It’s a remembrance, that every version of us is valid—even the one that catches you by surprise.

This is how we move from separation to integration.
